pressure bleed through (i.e., flow of gas through the panel) if the panel is free standing or supported by a frame structure. For these tests, the Firexx panel was supported on a frame and the pressure in the air space behind the Firexx was measured. The 5 inch thick material was made of a hard Firexx panel, which in the opinion of Firexx Corporation is best suited for reducing load. The 8-inch panel reduced the pressure in the air space by 91% to 92% as compared with what would be reflected from a rigid surface. The 5-inch panel reduced the pressure by 87% to 94%.
